The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a separate entity that reports to India's Union Ministry of Human Resource Development. It is among India's top-rated and most well-known school boards. Another important component of the Indian educational system is the education board. It aims to spread value-based and enriching education throughout the nation by using better and cutting-edge pedagogy.

The National Education Policy 2020's changes, which the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has intended to implement, call for a restructuring of the affiliation system. From the academic year 2023–2024, CBSE will use a new affiliation system.

With the new approach, the CBSE has chosen to completely digitize the affiliation process, meaning that it would be conducted entirely online with little to no human involvement.

The restructure will assist in achieving the goals of minimal government, maximum governance, automated and data-driven decisions, transparency, and increased accountability in all systemic processes, as well as speedy and time-bound disposal of all applications.

A comprehensive and updated document on the CBSE affiliation system, including videos for various processes, the restructured online affiliation procedure, and documentation necessary for affiliation applications, modalities, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inspection, should be considered henceforth for CBSE affiliation.
